The results of the research on prehistoric dentistry, led by ICTP scientists Federico Bernardini and Claudio Tuniz in collaboration with Sincrotrone Trieste and published on PLos One, have been highlighted by the international press.
New Scientists, The Times, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Corriere della Sera and many more covered the story of what can be considered the earliest evidence of therapeutic dental filling.
The PLoS One paper, "Beeswax as Dental Filling on a Neolithic Human Tooth" and a selection of clippings are displayed in the library, in front of the information desk.
